President Trump and Elon Musk’s reckless decision to dismantle USAID has already caused needless death, suffering, and lasting damage around the world. The consequences have fallen hardest on the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people, with an estimated 12 million additional child deaths expected by 2045. We cannot undo the damage that's been done, but we can and should rebuild and strengthen USAID in the years to come to prevent this from happening again.
