Rep. Don Beyer, who represents the largest number of federal employees of any member of the U.S. House of Representatives, today hailed the Biden-Harris Administration’s announcement that it would raise the minimum wage for federal contractors to $15, indexed to inflation beyond 2022.

“Federal contractors, like all Americans, deserve a fair wage for their labor and I applaud these steps by the Biden-Harris Administration to raise their minimum wage,” said Rep. Beyer. “This will put money in workers’ pockets and help improve the standard of living for thousands of American families, many of whom I represent. Every American worker deserves a fair wage, and the Senate should build on this progress by passing the Raise The Wage Act and sending legislation to increase the federal minimum wage to the President’s desk.”
